About This Service

Trade Marks at VS Arora & Co.

A trademark is your most valuable business asset — it identifies your goods and services, sets you apart from competitors, and builds consumer trust over time. Without registration, your brand name, logo or slogan has no legal protection, leaving it open to imitation or outright theft.

At VS Arora & Co., we handle the entire trademark lifecycle: from pre-filing clearance searches to examination responses, oppositions, appeals and post-registration monitoring. With 15+ years of experience and a dedicated IP team, we give your brand the protection it deserves — in India and across all Madrid Protocol territories.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q

How long does trademark registration take in India?

A

The process typically takes 18–24 months from filing to registration if there are no objections or oppositions. With objections or third-party oppositions, it can take longer.

Q

Do I need to register my trademark in every class?

A

You only need to register in the class(es) that cover your specific goods or services. Filing in unnecessary classes adds cost without benefit. We advise the optimal class strategy for your business.

Q

What is the Madrid Protocol?

A

The Madrid Protocol allows you to file a single international trademark application that covers up to 130+ countries through WIPO. It is significantly more cost-effective than filing separately in each country.

Q

Can I use the ™ symbol before registration?

A

Yes. The ™ symbol can be used as soon as you start using a mark commercially. The ® symbol can only be used after the trademark is officially registered.

Q

What happens if someone opposes my trademark?

A

We file a counter-statement, gather evidence of use and distinctiveness, and argue your case before the Registrar or IPAB. Most oppositions can be resolved through negotiation or a well-prepared counter-statement.
