About This Service

Consumer Court Cases at VS Arora & Co.

The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 empowers consumers to seek compensation for defective products, deficient services, misleading advertisements and unfair trade practices — quickly and at low cost. The forums are accessible, jurisdiction is based on the value of the claim, and cases are heard faster than civil courts.

VS Arora & Co. represents both consumers and businesses (respondents) before the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (DCDRC), State Commission (SCDRC) and the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC). We handle everything from builder-buyer flat delivery disputes to medical negligence, insurance claim rejections and e-commerce fraud.

Our Process

How It Works

1
1

Case Assessment & Evidence Gathering

We assess your complaint under the Consumer Protection Act, gather evidence of the defect or deficiency, and determine the appropriate forum based on claim value and jurisdiction.

2
2

Complaint Drafting & Filing

We draft a comprehensive complaint with all supporting documents and file it before the correct Consumer Commission, along with an application for interim relief if required.

3
3

Hearings & Arguments

We appear at hearings, respond to the opposite party's written version, lead your evidence and make oral/written arguments before the Commission.

4
4

Order & Execution

Once an order is passed in your favour, we assist with execution to recover compensation, including interest and legal costs awarded by the Commission.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q

What can I claim in a consumer court?

A

You can claim the cost of the defective goods or deficient service, compensation for loss or injury suffered, punitive damages, and legal costs. The Commission can also direct rectification or replacement of the product.

Q

Is there a time limit to file a consumer complaint?

A

Yes — 2 years from the date of the cause of action. However, the Commission can condone delay if you provide sufficient reason, so file as soon as possible.

Q

Can a business file in consumer court?

A

Under the 2019 Act, a person who buys goods or services for commercial purposes is not a "consumer." However, sole proprietors and small businesses buying goods for livelihood purposes may qualify. We assess eligibility case by case.

Q

Can I file a consumer complaint online?

A

Yes — the National Consumer Helpline (NCH) at consumerhelpline.gov.in allows online complaint filing. We advise on the appropriate forum and assist with online filing for maximum convenience.
